        • WordPress Users, Don’t Get Banned by Ping Services

        • Ping Services WarningWordPress Users, did you know that WordPress has some serious issues with their pinging system that could actually get your blog banned by ping services, and you'll end up losing traffic? Furthermore, if you have been a long time user of WordPress, your blog has probably already been banned by some of the ping services and suffering negative consequences because of this issue.

          What is a ping service?
          *
Basically, a ping service is a site which accepts pings. Whenever you add a new blog post, the ping service built in WordPress sends a ping to these ping services telling them that you have just made a new blog post.

Behind the scene after the ping is sent out.
          * Your blog could get a one way link from being added to their directory.
          * If they have an updated blog list, you could get listed in it.
          * When search engines such as Google, receives the ping, they are much quicker to index your blog and send traffic to your blog from their search engine.
          * You pick up on secondary traffic from blog search engines such as, Google Blog Search and the Yahoo Search Blog!

Pinging services are great tools and have many advantages, but there is a downside if you don't know how to use them properly. However, because WordPress has this serious flaw in their pinging system, you are most likely using ping in the wrong manner, and it's not even your fault! Furthermore, as I have said previously, your blog has probably already been banned by some of the ping services.

          WordPress Ping Issues:
Every time you edit a post, WordPress sends out unnecessary pings! That’s right, ever time you click on ‘Save and Continue Editing’ button. Furthermore, the ping service receives a ping, and depending on how many times you have made changes to your post, it could be as many as 5, 10, 15, 20 pings. This could easily get you tagged as a spammer, but that really depends on each ping service and their policies.

          WordPress Ping Issue Fix:
To avoid having your blog feed being blocked. Just install this simple plugin, MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer, and it won’t send out those unnecessary pings which could get you banned from such ping services.
