        • The number one thing, that ticks off Spunky Jones!

        • - Aren't you tired of all of those success stories, telling you to work hard? -

        • Success StoriesThis post is definitely off the usual topic of this SEO Blog. However, I do find it necessary to let off some steam and address the number one thing, that ticks off Spunky Jones! I am sure that many of you feel the same way when it comes to this topic. Even so, there are many people that see this differently than I do. Therefore, it would be interesting to hear your opinions on this topic.

Every week, I get emails about blogging success stories. Taking a quick glance, these emails sound very good. It is nice to hear about that someone who has succeeded and accomplished their goals in the world of blogging. Blogging is very hard work and there are only a few people that actually become successful at blogging. However, all the hard work in the world, doesn't always lead you to success as these emails and blog posts suggest.

Usually, these emails are nothing more than your typical link bait. They have one primary objective, and that is to get you to visit their website. Once you have landed on their blog, they tell you about all the traffic, comments and money they are getting. Most of this, is nothing more than feeding you a dream, a ploy to sell you their products and services! No doubt, it would be nice to have tons of traffic, comments, and make huge amounts of cash. Who wouldn't want that? It is one of the most common dreams that we all tend to believe that can become true. Especially, if we work hard! However, that is only a little part of the equation of becoming successful. You can actually work very hard and fail at blogging!

Occasionally, there are some that have a valid success story. However, most of them are a generic post and the authors don't reveal anything that they used to achieve their goal. Either way, neither of these are helpful in any way to improve our blogging and online marketing skills. It would be nice if they would do a follow up post on what methods, they actually used to achieve their success. The problem is that very few of them are going to reveal any secrets without it costing you MONEY!

In my opinion the let down begins with the email. As I read the email, one would think that there is another gold rush taking place. However, if you visit their website and read the blog post, you will quickly discover they want your gold to line their pockets!

Most people who write these blog posts, contribute success to making money, huge amounts of traffic and blog comments. It is great link bait material, and it does work very effectively to get you to visit their site. However, wouldn't it be nice to actually find a gold nugget on that site that is usable?

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, "The number one thing, that ticks off Spunky Jones!"

I agree, they make it sound like as if success is guaranteed. I have seen so many people who aspired to become successful bloggers based on what their minds were fed by sites like you have mentioned. They tell you that you can become successful and create a stream of income and that the only thing required on your part would be hard work. Working hard is perceptive and that's what they don't share with you. When you tell someone they'll need to work hard, most if not will instantly agree to 'work hard' without actually understanding what it means to work hard.

You are correct, they don't share what they did to get there. From what I have seen, they want your $ to reveal their secrets. I feel that they get people on the track of disappointment.

Exactly! And once you spend your money purchasing what they are trying to sell, only then you'd realize what blogging really is and what it takes. If they showed you how difficult it is, no body would buy what they are trying to sell. Only those who are up to it would. And those are the ones who'll attain relative amounts of success where as all others end up wasting their hard earned money.

I agree, if people knew the amount of time it takes to apply those methods, they wouldn't spend their money. Even if you purchased their secrets, you need the skill set to apply them. Furthermore, you could end up spending your $ and find out you have to spend more $ to apply their secrets.
