        • Releasing WordPress Themes on Spunky Jones Blog

        • - Comming soon, a small collection of nicely designed WP templates -

        • WordPress ThemesI am going to give it another shot and release some nicely designed WordPress themes on the Spunky Jones SEO Blog.  In the past, it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. However, after giving it some thought, I will try this again and do things a little differently than I had before.

          In the past, the designer credit was a sitewide link that displayed on all pages of the theme. Since Google frowns on sitewide links, this could be one of the reasons that so many people removed the designer link in the footer. I had previously had a policy that made it easy to remove the link in the footer. It just requires a simple blog post about the WordPress themes or a blogroll link. Over 98% of the theme users removed the footer link and never made a blog post or gave back a blogroll link to me.

          To say the least, this was very upsetting, and I eventually pulled the plug and didn't offer themes anymore. I know that there will always be people that will blatantly remove the credit link without any regard to the designer. However, I do feel that some credit is due to the designer for the time and effort put forth.

          This time around, the designer credit link will appear on the main page only. It won't be a sitewide link that Google apparently has some issues with. The terms of removal of the designer link remain the same. You'll need to either write a simple blog post about the WordPress themes being offered on Spunky Jones, and include a backlink that points back to either of the following URLs.
          * http://www.spunkyjones.com/
          * http://wpthemes.spunkyjones.com/

          If you would rather not write a blog post, then a simple link back to either URL in your blogroll will do the trick. There is no reason to contact me for approval, your all on your own.

          Here is the main deal. I will offer no support on the themes released. However, If you have followed the simple terms and have a backlink pointing back to Spunky Jones, I will provide you with updated themes to keep current with the latest Internet browsers.

          If you need support to edit themes and customize them. I will offer paid support that is $10.00 per hour and billed out every 30 minutes. Furthermore, I will only accept payments via PayPal.

          Additional thoughts: If the majority removes the footer credit and doesn't follow through with the agreement, I will not offer free themes. I will then set up a member area, where you either pay a membership fee or just outright purchase the themes for a fixed fee. Furthermore, if things go well. I will consider a adding a private forum to offer limited free support, to those who follow the guidelines by downloading the WP themes.

          "I expect to release my first collection of WordPress themes very soon".
