Until recently, two of the most important variables which influence search engine optimization (SEO) are "on page" and "off page" factors. However, there are other factors, which Google uses that determines the search engine ranking position of your website. However, it's not a big mystery and there are a few SEO professionals who are figuring out what those factors are.
If you follow SEO forums and SEO blogs, you probably have seen and heard the term, "Trust" and "TrustRank" being used. The consensus of those among the SEO profession is, that a Domain can accumulate trust, which gives it the ability to achieve higher search engine rankings. However, if the site lacks trust, the site will most likely not rank well for any of its keywords, even if the search engine optimization (SEO) process was done correctly.
One of the biggest questions asked by most webmasters is, how can a Domain accumulate "Trust"?
Contributing factors, which seem to help determine a Domain to accumulate such trust, are.
* The Domain age of the site.
* Length of the period which a Domain is registered.
* Age of the backlinks which point back to the Domain.
* If your site has a unique IP for its Domain.
* The sites content growth rate and its consistency and stability.
* Sitemaps.
* The sites backlink growth rate and the consistency and stability of them.
* Your server uptime reliability status.
* The amount of trust that the Domains have, containing backlinks to your site.
* The usage of spam tactics.
* Off topic - Bad topics.
* Search Engine results - click through rates.
It is said that the Google "trustrank factor" and the "significance" it holds, will play a much bigger part for search engine optimization. However, it also means that webmasters can't be quite as aggressive in their SEO campaigns because there are now limiting factors, which include the amount of trust that is accumulated for the domain that you are optimizing for.
Once you have reached the maximum SEO threshold for your Domain that is allowed, and you are still falling short your SEO expected results, all you can do is wait patiently while you accumulate quality content and quality links for your Domain.
