        • Reading the post before you comment, will be more appealing to others!

        • Reading the Blog PostIn the world of blogging, a visiting blogger can become your friend, and they can also become your foe! In the past few years, I have seen all types of bloggers and most of them are great to deal with. However, there is a small group that really needs to take some lessons in blogging ethics!

If you are a professional blogger who takes pride in your work, the chances are very good that it may frustrate you when someone doesn't read your blog posts, before they comment on your blog! Furthermore, it's an insult that their comments are so far off the topic, favored in spam, and that they actually expect you to approve their comments! It's actually enough to tick off, even some of the most laid back bloggers I know in this industry. So, with all that said, what is one to do?

Do you actually approve the comment and degrade your blog, of course not? Just because some bloggers are lacking in ethics, isn't a justifiable reason for you to give in and lower your blogging standards! All professional bloggers, should obtain and maintain ethical standards under all circumstances!

It is pretty much common knowledge that most SEO experts, will tell you that commenting on blogs that are related to your topic niche is a very effective method to get traffic to your site and also to build backlinks that help your pagerank. Furthermore, I tend to agree with this for the most part that commenting on blogs within the same niche is beneficial. However, the comment needs to "add" to the topic and discussion!

Now, let's take a closer look at some top bloggers. If we look at some of their sites, you will probably notice that many of their blogs are filled with non-related comments filled with spam. Furthermore, the worst part is that many of them were approved by the owners or staff members. This really makes me wonder about them as role models, and what standards they adhere to. The big question that I am wondering about, is the blind actually leading the blind?

As far as I am concerned, it all runs downhill. If you allow comments that are filled with spam to be approved just for the sake of having a comment, it is my opinion that you will eventually ruin any reputation that you might have. Having a good reputation in the blogging world goes a long way, and you don't build it by chasing comment quantity that is nothing more than annoying cheap spam!

          Final thoughts:
Don't be lead away from what appears, greener on the other side of the fence. Stick to standards that have ethics, build your reputation for the long haul and this will avoid an avalanche from coming down on you and destroying what you have worked for!
