        • Spunky Jones – Ping List Checker Plugin for WordPress!

        • - Find those duplicates URLs in your ping list and avoid double pinging those services-

        • Ping List CheckerThe Ping List Checker plugin for WordPress allows blog owners to verify if whether all sites in their ping list are unique or not. If duplicate entries are found, the plugin will report them and will display the number of times they were found in the list. This will help WordPress blog owners to ensure that a ping service is not pinged more than once.

As bigger ping lists become more popular to use to get more traffic and backlinks, I felt is was necessary to have a plugin that checks for duplicate services in your ping list. This plugin needs to check for duplicate URLs, to eliminate double pings which could lead to you getting tagged as a spammer! Therefore, the required information was sent off to Naif Amoodi, and the "ping list plugin" was develop for Spunky Jones SEO Blog.

If we look at the following ping URLs, you will see that they will ping the same ping service.

          http://rpc.pingomatic.com/

          rpc.pingomatic.com/

          http://www.rpc.pingomatic.com/

          www.rpc.pingomatic.com/

Now, place these four URLs into your ping list also include "http://rpc.pingomatic.com/" for an exact duplicate. Now, check your "WordPress ping list" with the ping list checker and it will report a total of five duplicate URLs that it found.

Your next step is to manually search your ping list for the duplicates that were found, and to delete them and retest for any duplicates that you may have missed.
