Have you heard that time is an "equal opportunity resource?" No matter what, we all get 168 hours a week, no more and no less. Therefore, "I don't have enough time" can no longer be an excuse. A quick lesson on time management is all people need to structure their day better and have a sense of accomplishment when they hit their pillow at night.
Have goals, short and/or long term. Now you have a basis on scheduling. If I wanted to have 5 blogs posted in the next week, I better set a couple hours per night to write down ideas, create drafts, and post. Make sure they are personal and professional. Some don't need a time frame, just a time block. For example, dedicating 6 pm - 7 pm helping your kids with their homework.
Get a planner. Whether you work in the office or a home body, you need to schedule your time effectively. Having a visual gives a great outlook of what there is to do and what needs to be done. Start by placing in fixed plans that can not be moved (meetings, deadlines, anniversary dinners); set clear starting and stopping times (especially in professional blogging); include time for errands; and be flexible to your time because things do come up. Most importantly, schedule time for fun! What is work with no reward?
Make lists. This is a very convenient overlook on daily tasks. Place your list in your planner, post-it to your computer, or on the refrigerator. Trust me, when you are running a million errands and interruptions are plenty, a list will provide a general focus. I can't provide any other simpler way to get a sense of accomplishment than crossing off things on a list.
Our 168 hours per week just turned into 168 productive hours! Don't forget that fun is also penciled in there somewhere. The key is to use time effectively and to your benefit.
