in Making Money Online

Online MarketingHello and welcome to the Spunky Jones SEO Blog, be sure to visit our online pet supply section for huge deals on dog biscuits! I bet that you are wondering, how can this be relevant to the site’s niche, and what in the world is going on here at Spunky Jones. Right? “Don’t Panic, I’ll explain.”

I don’t believe that most people who are in their right mindset would expect “dog biscuit” deals on a SEO Blog. Right? Furthermore, it just doesn’t fit the relevance of the sites’ niche. Especially, if you are out to make money!

I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of seeing those irrelevant advertisement ads on sites. Imagine if you visited a website and their niche is “web design,” and it is plastered with “how to train your dog” ads all over it. It makes me wonder, what planet did I just land on! I am looking for “web design” related information. Therefore, I won’t waste my time and click on such ads because I have no interest for dog biscuits!

As I navigate through the website, and if the site is plastered full of ads, I have to ask myself, do I really expect to find any quality content on this site? It will be no shock to me, if the site owner has posted their ads at the beginning of their content at this point. Therefore, it is my opinion, that this is a plea of someone who is desperate for money, and/or, off the beaten track of online marketing. Furthermore, shoving “Click my Ads,” down my throat, isn’t going to get me to click their ads. However, it will actually speed me up to exit their website, in a big hurry! The object is to keep me there, as long as possible and convert me into a sale.

If you have a good amount of web traffic, and you’re not making any money, you need to pay attention to relevancy. Don’t focus solely on monetization, and avoid cramming your site full of too many monetization methods! Usually if you have too many methods applied, more than often, nobody ends up clicking your ads! If your ads are irrelevant in comparison to your page content or blog posts, it degrades your site. The problem is, your doing things backwards and not focusing on your content! One must focus on the website’s content first, making sure that it stays relevant to the niche you have chosen. Part of monetization is earning the trust of your visitors and that is one of the reasons you need quality content. Once you have earned their trust, they are much more like to click on your ads. “This is especially true, if the ads are related to your site’s niche and page content!”

It is your website, and you can set it up anyway that you like. However, if you are thinking about making money, you need to think things out in more detail. The key is having great content and knowing how to convert your traffic into sales. Earning your visitors trust and respect as an authority figure in your niche, is the first goal! Things fall into place much easier, once you have achieved this.

As I have said previously on this blog, keep your site navigation clean and easy to follow. Don’t use your ads in a matter that distracts your visitors, you’ll end up losing sales. Keep your content related to your niche, and you’ll end up converting more visitors into sales!

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, “Relevance, the forgotten rule of online marketing!
