MailWasher allows you to check the origin of the email you receive against DNS spam blacklist servers. The default DNS spam blacklist includes a couple of DNS blacklist servers, Spamhaus (zen.spamhaus.org) and SpamCop (bl.spamcop.net). However, you are able to add more to the DNS spam blacklist and arrange their order to suit your needs.
In this blog post I will cover "How to set up your MailWasher Pro DNS blacklist server list".
- Before we start, there are a couple of things that you need to know about DNS spam blacklist servers. -
What is a DNS spam Blacklist Server?
A DNS spam Blacklist Server contains a list of known spammers. The database consists of Internet addresses that are used by individuals or companies who are either sending spam, or support spammers, in their spamming practices.
What do I gain from using DNS spam Blacklist Servers?
When you check your e-mail in MailWasher Pro, new emails are checked against these blacklist servers to determine if the e-mail came from a known source of spam. If the email came from a known source of spam, it is listed in the Status column in the preview pane. These emails are then marked for Bounce and Delete.
