        • Are You, Losing Web Traffic and Sales Leads?

        • - Get more sales by achieving top search engine rankings -

        • Losing Web TrafficOne of the the most important factors to consider when running a web site is, you want to show up as high in the search engine results as possible. This gives your business the best opportunity to increase web traffic and generate more sales leads. So as you can imagine, the ultimate punishment you can receive from the search engines is to have your domain banned.

Having your complete website deindexed makes it so your business will not come up in the search engines. It makes it extremely difficult to generate the web traffic needed to succeed in the highly competitive internet industry. This does not mean you cannot revert to other methods to bring in traffic, but it certainly puts a damper on a perfectly good opportunity.

What you do have to understand is that a deindexed web site will be out of sight to the searchers. It makes it so a domain search is impossible because your site and keywords will not appear in the search engines.

There are several things you can do to avoid having your website banned such as creating fresh content that is your own, avoiding spamming words, and many other things. There are several other precursors as well.

If your web site is poorly built and the overall structure is messy, spiders will avoid your site. If you do not follow webmaster guidelines and employ black hat SEO methods, your site can be banned. Lastly, playing around with your robots.txt can have poor implications on your site as well.

However, sometimes people have domain banned without even realizing it. To avoid this, there is a way for you to check if your website has been banned. It is a quick three step process that anyone can do easily.

The first step to checking if your domain has been banned is to go to domain.com or www.domain.com. What you want to see is pages from your site show up in the search results. If you see pages show up, you can rest assured that your site has not been banned.

The next step is to type “site:domain.com” into your search engine like Google or Yahoo. If you see something show up other than “…did not match any documents,” then you are in the clear. If you do see that phrase pop up, you will know that your website has been banned.

The last step is to check your website in Google Webmaster Tools. If you find your site is not fully deindexed, you will be able to find useful information to change for the future.

Having your web site banned or deindexed can be detrimental to your business and the amount of traffic you generate. Take the tips listed in this article to avoid being banned and check if your site has been banned.
