When you are working on your link building campaign, it is of the utmost importance not to use the same redundant title and description for every link that you are obtaining. You need to be creative and use a variation of them to avoid the issue of duplicate content, which could get you flagged by the search engines. Your links need to appear that they were naturally obtain, otherwise you will suffer a penalty by the search engines because they are considered unnatural.
If you are new to blogging, this is something that you need to be aware of from the beginning. Starting off on the right foot will save you a lot of time and money down the blogging trail later. So, let’s make sure that you understand link building and the proper usage of titles, descriptions, by using this simple tool that will help to prevent duplicate content.
I discovered this free tool on the Internet over at DupeCop.com, this tool is used to compare re-written PLR articles to the original article. I started out experimenting with Duplicate Content Checker comparing articles and then a bell went off in my head loud and clear. Wow, I can use this tool to compare titles and descriptions to the originals, and write more unique titles and descriptions easily. It also gives me a unique percentage count of the content, way cool!
The higher the percentage is, the more unique your title, description, page content is going to be, and less likely to be flagged by the search engines as duplicate content. Many SEO experts say that about 30% change in page content is needed to avoid the duplicate content penalty. However, I strive for much percentage of 92% or higher. Furthermore, I have found that the search engines rank my blog posts much better using this formula.
Getting back to titles and descriptions. You probably won’t be able to get a percentage of 92% or higher that often on those two, so try to at least get a value of 25% or better for a starting point.
