        • Increase Page Views by Interlinking Blog Posts

        • - If your not interlinking, you'll lose out on increasing your traffic -

        • Interlinking Blog Posts to Improve Page ViewsIf you interlink your blog posts, you will increase your page views per visitor. Increasing your page views, has a positive effect and improves your rankings with such services as Alexa. Furthermore, even if your site isn't monetized, interlinking is vital, and I will explain its importance and why you should interlink.

Let's look at this example where one site gets 1,000 visitors per day and those visitors view a single page. Now, let's look at another site that gets 100 visitors per day and those visitors view 10 pages. It is obvious that the site with 100 visitors per day gets more page views per unique user. Therefore, if have monetized your site with Adsense, there are more chances that they will click on your ads. The main reason is, they are viewing ads that are related to their interest and niche. It is my opinion that the site with 100 visitors per day has a much better potential of making revenue!

          Visual this basic example:
1,000 unique visitors x 1 page view = 1,000 ads. Results are, 1 ad displayed per visitor.
100 unique visitors x 10 page views = 1,000 ads. Results are, 10 ads displayed per visitor.

Now, we need to take a look at two blogs that are very similar niche and content, that use Adsense for their only source of revenue. Let's say that my Alexa rank is 200,000 and the other site is 100,000. While my site gets 10 views per unique visitor and the other site gets 3 unique per visitors, it is my opinion that I will make more money. However, this would depend if ads were placed in the same area of the blog posts, colors of the ads, etc.

I monitor my web stats on a daily basis, and they tell me that I am getting more page views by interlinking. Furthermore, according to Alexa's stats, my pages per unique viewer are going up and so is my Alexa ranking! This is more than likely to be the biggest reason, why my Adsense revenue continues to increase!

          The method that I use:
I manually linkĀ  a couple of keywords/phrases from my new blog post to a couple of related articles. Furthermore, I use the "Yet Another Related Post" plugin that lists the top 5 posts of my blog that are related to the new post. I display them in the footer, so they don't distract the visitor from the main topic of the post page.

          Additional thoughts:
Interlinking has a positive influence of your pages ranking better in the search engines. This is due to the fact that your pages are linked to other related topics.
