        • - Think Outside the Box when it comes to Monetizing Your Website -

        • Monetize Your BlogMonetizing your website with Google Adsense is an easy way to start off with. However, there are webmasters that struggle to just to make a few dollars daily. On the other hand, you'll find plenty of webmasters that make hundreds of dollars from their web site every day of the week. In this blog post, I will show you that you'll need to think outside of the box to generate good Adsense revenue!

          * First of all, one must focus on the large rectangle format of 336x280 for their Adsense ads. The reason for this format, it displays the ad links very close to the standard size of your normal web page hyperlinks. This is what people are used to seeing and clicking on. Therefore, using smaller font sizes won't be as effective as larger fonts are to get a good click through rate (CTR). Furthermore, this format size offers four ads that displays related ads to the post content based on the positioning location within the title and body. Did you know that proper placement of you ad can improve your income by 200%?

          * Another factor to consider is making a custom palette for your Adsense ads. The goal here is to select a background color that will work well with your site. If you have a white background, then make use of the same color for your ad background. Remove the Adsense border, and match the link and text color to your website. The ad is much less likely to be perceived as an ad. The overall goal here is, making the ads look like they are a part of your web site. You'll increase the chances of your audience reading the text ads and clicking on them. Don't forget to pay close attention to your color scheme when designing your Adsense Ads!

          * The next step is to put your ads at the top of your pages. The most logical choices are, the header, the sidebar or top of your blog post. The object here is to make sure that the ads are placed in a good visual area that people won't miss. This will improve your click through rate (CTR). Therefore, positioning your ads above the fold is very important for success!

          * Search engine traffic works the best with Adsense. People who use the search engines are looking for something. When they land on your page and your content isn't what they were looking for, you'll want to provide them with a "clickout" option. Therefore, you want to display your Adsense Ad, right where they landed on your web site!

          Additional thoughts:
It is said that placing your ad before your article content is the best place to maximize its exposure. However, it is my opinion that this method sends out a bad message to your audience. You're telling them to "click here", I need MONEY! I prefer to display my ads at the end of the post on most of my blogs. I want my readers to read my content without any distractions.

Remember to stay on track with your topic, so Google can match it with relevance ads. Search engine traffic is a must have for Adsense. Therefore, if the bulk of your traffic comes from social networking sites, you'll want to consider another method for revenue.
