Once you have determined that, and you’ve got the green light, you will then need to select a relevant title and tagline that will be appealing to your visitors.

You decided to blog, and now you need a starting point

However, if you have a special passion, and you desire to blog about that niche, that is great. However, if you want to blog and got the idea of making money, then choosing a blog niche that can support the supply and demand of visitors is of the utmost importance. With all that said, you are probably wondering, where do I start and how in the world can I figure that out? There is no need to panic, the steps are quite simple, and I will be walking you through them.

Assuming that you have selected a blog niche, we will now proceed to the next step needed to determine if the niche will supply the audience and traffic flow needed to make your blog thrive.
For this procedure, we will be using Google Adwords keyword tool to search for the best keyword phrases for your blog niche.

* You will need to click on, the following URL “https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal” or paste it in your Internet browser to access Google Adwords keyword tool. If things went well, you should see a screen with the following details, as shown below.

* For this lesson, we are going to leave the Google keyword tool defaults that are set in place. Next, we will type in a few keywords that are related to our blogs niche that we have selected. I have selected the following keywords, blog, blog tips and blogging tips for possibilities.

* We need to process this to get our results of possible blog niches, please process.

* From this point on, it is all about the math to determine, which are the best keywords, traffic volume and competition to select your blog niche.

* As we look over our results, we can see that “blog” has too much competition, to large of a niche and to broad of a topic. Therefore, we need to target a smaller niche with less competition. My guidelines are no more than 25,000 and no less than 5,000 per month for a brand new blog. Looking at the result, blogging tips – 6,600 and blog tips – 18,100 are good possibilities to choose from and there are a few other worth thinking about as well.

* This is one of many methods which you can use to find a blog niche which is suited for your blog topic. Furthermore, this process works very well for writing articles and selecting article titles as well.

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, – - You decided to blog, so where do you start? – -

Spunky Jones.

The Day That The SEO World Stood Still

Google SEO

The way Google is going theses days, it won’t be long before the SEO World will stand still. Some people speculate that SEO optimization is fading fast, and others say that it is dead. There are those, on the other hand, that say that SEO is alive as long as there are search engines.

The SEO World is changing as we know it

One thing in the SEO World is for sure, and that is change. As search engine evolve, they get smarter, and those that try to deceive them, eventually get caught. However, instead of learning their lesson, they look for new ways, to exploit the search engines, to achieve top rankings and/or PageRank.

The SEO circle and its world are an endless circle. However, at some point, SEO could come to a screeching halt. Image, one day, you wake up, and your PageRank and search engine rankings were gone. Would you be able to survive if the SEO World stood still?

The problem with SEO, isn’t SEO optimization, itself. The problem actually points at the people who exploit it for personal gains. In our society, there is always going to be a handful of unscrupulous people who are going to cheat the system. Not only do they cheat, they encourage others to do so, as well!

As long as people continue to exploit SEO, it is going to trigger events that will impact the world of SEO optimization. Therefore, the search engines will continue to improve their algorithms to detect people who exploit SEO.

I for one, don’t mind all of these updates that Google has released, recently. I believe that the playing field is being leveled, making SEO optimization fair game for everybody! However, there will be some bumps in the road that will happen to be smoothed out in order to get the SEO World back on it’s feet, once again.

If you are dependant on organic traffic from the search engines, it is time that you follow their guidelines. Otherwise, you’ll get caught up in the constant battle and could experience, “The Day That The SEO World Stood Still” or even worst than that!

Is your Web Design missing the SEO Factor?

SEO Optimization

Web Design

Is your web design missing the SEO factor, is a question that every web designer needs to address from time to time. The problem is that many people who do web design on a regularly, kill the search engine optimization factor and any hope of that website ranking high in the search engines.

Missing SEO Factors will decrease your search engine rankings

One must first understand that the primary function of the search engines is to gather the best pertinent information related to the search terms that someone is searching for. It isn’t all about the blow away web design, graphics design, flash, java or animations. It is all about the on-page and off-page factors, which include content, search terms and targeted keywords.

Unless you are a professional web designer who also understands SEO, a simple design is more practical than a web designer’s master piece consisting of the over usage of flash, java and graphics. One of the biggest problems is that search engine spiders do not crawl flash sites that well. Most people that are searching for information, could actually care less about fancy flash, java and graphics. Also, text links to other pages throughout your site are much better to use than graphical images for SEO. If you must use images for menu buttons/links, then it would be wise to include text links in the footer of your web page for better SEO.

I would suggest that your site be only three tiers deep. If you look at sites, which rank well in the search engines and have inner pagerank, you will find that the majority is three tiers or less. The deeper you go with your tiers, search engines seem to deem the importance of these pages less. To make this simple, no web pages should be more than two clicks from your main page/homepage.

More important SEO factors needed for a simple but effective web design:
* a few graphic images are fine to use, but make sure that you use proper alt tags.
* If you decide to use images, you can load them in your css style sheet, this will help to balance your SEO.
* Use at least one, header one or header two tags.
* Don’t forget your meta tags, title, description and keywords tags are a must.
* Be sure to use your keywords to link web pages to other pages with text menus.

Following these simple guidelines, you will stand in a much better place of ranking higher in the search engines and also over your competitors.

YouTube related video about on-page SEO for Google Toppings:

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, – - Is your Web Design missing the SEO Factor? – -

Spunky Jones.

Artificial Inseminating Your Blog

Blogging

Blogs

Just about the time, you thought that you have heard it all, someone brings up the topic of Artificial Inseminating Your Blog. Now, you might ask yourself what in the heck does “artificial inseminating” have to do with blogging? You may also be asking yourself if this blogger has been kicked one too many times in the head by farm animals! Well, in this case, I hope not!

Now, let’s get one thing straight before we start. Artificial inseminating your blog isn’t some new sexual fetish, at least I hope not. It is all about manipulating the system by any means to make your blog appear bigger than life. It’s actually been around for a very long time and many webmasters called them secrets. Others have called them cheats depending if you take the road to white hat or black hat to build your blog.

- – Now that you have a basic idea of this ridiculous concept, here are some examples of artificial insemination. – -

* Get all of your family and friends to install the Alexa toolbar and visit your blog daily. This inflates your Alexa ranking quite well, but how many of them, in reality, have an interest of what your blog has to say and how many actually take the time to read the article? How many actually leave comments on their own without being instructed to do so?

* Some have ISDN routers which when rebooted get a different IP address assigned to it, sometimes up to 25 or more. You can browse through your web site with the Alexa toolbar and be on the road to success with your Alexa rankings.

* Trick Feedburner so it will report thousands of subscribers. It is a hack where you just simply create an OPML file and add some code. This one, John Chow versus Shoemoney to get the most Feedburner subscribers. It is rumored that the winner used this cheat to win the contest.

* Linking schemes seem to be a favorite. This consists of a group of people exchanging links in a clever linking scheme to manipulate PageRank. There were a lot of phpLD directories, which used a linking scheme to gain popularity votes to improve PageRank. Most of those directories have a big fat zero for PageRank now and lost all of their authority.

Although it is sad to see so many people applying these cheat tricks to their blog, the question you need to ask yourself is why not? If everyone else is doing it and are gaining an upper-hand, why shouldn’t you? There are ways to apply these cheats and secrets to your blog while doing so in as little of a manipulative way as possible. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself if it is worth it to use these methods to gain an upper-hand on the competition.

Just about the time you thought that you have heard it all someone brings up the topic of Artificial Inseminating Your Blog. This is a kind of program that engages on partnership between web publishers and Google with the purpose of earning a stream of additional income.

Working With Google Adsense

This is how Google Adsense works: First when signing up to be a member, web publishers gave permission, to Google on posting ads on their website or blog. Once the ads are posted, web publishers will either get remunerated for several quantities of ad impressions or the amount of web visitors clicking on the ads posted.

Google makes use of their modern technology to “read” the substance of the pages of what the web publisher has allowed to post. This intensifies the tendency of having the ad related to the topic of a specific blog entry which in turn increases the opportunity to get noticed by the reader. While Google has the final input in which ads to appear on which pages, the web publisher will still be the one to decide how the advertisement should look like and what page they want it to be placed. Adsense users can choose from variety of styles of ads that can either be links or full ads with text or even with pictures.

Apart from choosing the type of ads, a user can also choose from different sizes and shapes of ad boxes known as ad units. In the final pace, the user can completely customize the color of the ad units, including the borders, links and text.

In recent months, Adsense allowed their users to publish advertisements on their site in an entire new way with Google Adsense embedding YouTube players. As a way of getting an attention grabbing ad and enhancing interest to their sites, a lot of web publishers are keenly placing videos for an added effect.

This can also be an added profit for the publisher. The exact amount of profit a person can earn through Adsense varies from different variables. Since a person generates income through the amount of clicks they are receiving or the number of people viewing the ad, a website owner having a huge amount of traffic has the greater tendency of earning a considerably amount of money.

To website owners, Google Adsense is one of those programs generating an additional stream of income. However, joining the Adsense program is not an assurance of future profit; but it is only a prospect or possibility of future income.

Adsense on the other hand is doing every possible way in providing tools and equipment for users to take full advantage of their income potential. One modern technology they use is called Channel. This gives the users a chance to be creative by creating different styles of ad units and place them on different pages on their site to track and generate great results. This is also a way of giving the user an impression of which shapes, sizes, and content of ads that stimulates the maximum amount of revenues.

YouTube related video:

Other related online articles about the Google Adsense:

Following up to the two previous articles I’ve written about Google Adsense here and here I wanted to provide you with another. The alert will indicate this subject heading:

“Some URLs in the sitemap have a high response time.”

The Description for this message will read; “Some URLs listed in this sitemap have a high response time. This may indicate a problem with your server or with the content of the page.”

Google views a site’s high response time as a deterrent to searchers, who prefer websites that load quickly. If you receive this alert, Google is in effect warning site managers that their site is taking too long to load and may be timing out during the loading process. Google interprets a site’s high response time as an inability to handle Google’s web traffic. As a result, the site’s ranking will most likely be lowered. The lowering of the site’s ranking will adversely affect the number of hits the site receives.

There are three steps site managers can take to stay advised as to how Google views their site and the site’s high response time. Web managers should verify each site through Google’s Webmaster Tools.

Once the site is verified, the site manager should monitor the crawl rates. If the crawl rates indicate a high response time, the manager should try to rearrange the composition of the site. If the problem persists, site managers may need to search for a new web host to counteract the negative consequences of Google’s high response time warning.

YouTube related video, “site performance for webmasters:

Spunky Jones Favorite – Online Website Testing Tools:

1. Pingdom

2. WebPageTest

3. Uptrends

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, “High Response Time Warning and You”

Spunky Jones.

Post Panda SEO Optimization, Dealing With The Snap, Crackle, Pop!

Google SEO

Post Panda

SEO Optimization

Will Panda continue with its snap, crackle and pop affect it has on SEO optimization? One thing you can count on in this life is change. This especially true when it comes to SEO Optimization. However, the changes with the Panda updates, has leveled the playing field in the world of SEO. If you take a look at, what is taught here on Spunky Jones. You’ll see, that my main concepts still apply, post panda, as well.

Optimization Tips to Take the Snap, Crackle, Pop out of Post Panda!

For those of you that are new and don’t know what Spunky Jones SEO Optimization is about. I teach search engine optimization methods that conform to the search engines’ guidelines. However, “link building” is usually considered a grey hat SEO technique by most search engines.

SEO optimization methods are extremely powerful when used collectively. Furthermore, applying one SEO brick at a time, turns your website into a giant traffic magnet!

Link building needs to be natural. Therefore, obtaining backlinks with the sole intention to deceive the search engines, in order to manipulate PageRank or Rankings, could spell trouble.

One of the main factors that still works is link diversity. Therefore, getting quality backlinks from multiple trusted sources, remains effective. However, your backlinks need to be tiered in levels, such as, tier 1, tier 2, tier 3, etc.

Social activity plays a vital role to achieve top rankings in the search engines. Therefore, site such as, Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus will provide a good solid avenue to travel.

Google sent out about 700,000 email notices though Webmaster Tools to site owners about unnatural linking.

Here is the Webmaster Tools message that was sent out:

“Dear site owner or webmaster of http://example.com/,

We’ve detected that some of your site’s pages may be using techniques that are outside Google’s Webmaster
Guidelines.
Specifically, look for possibly artificial or unnatural links pointing to your site that could be intended to manipulate
PageRank. Examples of unnatural linking could include buying links to pass PageRank or participating in link schemes.
We encourage you to make changes to your site so that it meets our quality guidelines. Once you’ve made these
changes, please submit your site for reconsideration in Google’s search results.
If you find unnatural links to your site that you are unable to control or remove, please provide the details in your
reconsideration request.
If you have any questions about how to resolve this issue, please see our Webmaster Help Forum for support.
Sincerely,
Google Search Quality Team”

Looking over my sites in Webmaster Tools, I didn’t receive any messages. Therefore, I decided to sit back and let the dust settle for a few weeks.

I did happen to notice a slight drop in traffic by 20% for the first couple of weeks. However, my web traffic is climbing back, and some of my sites are ranking, better than ever!

Some people tend to claim that this was a scare tactic by Google. However, most people will contact Google about the message and during the conversation, will inadvertently confess! Once you have done this, Google, has a pretty clear picture of your SEO techniques.

The blog networks acquired the biggest hit, and many sites were de-indexed. However, this is no surprise because most of those sites are garbage filled with spun articles that contain no value.

Article directories are another prime target for Google. Most of these sites consists of spun content just for the link value. Furthermore, most spun content doesn’t read particularly well, and Google can detect it, as well!

For those of you, that didn’t receive a message from Google, and your rankings dropped. More than likely it is due to “link velocity.” It is pretty easy to detect, and if you obtain links, too fast, Google adds a penalty. However, if you lost backlinks and went out and acquired more, you fell into a little trap and got flagged! Especially, it, they were low quality links and weren’t diversified.

If you were using paid blog networks, it is advisable to cancel your subscriptions. However, private blog networks still stand half a chance. But, the content must top quality and not abused!

One of your best choices to build quality links is “guest posting.” You simply provide the search engine users with useable content and include your backlink.

Blog commenting, forum signatures and comments have been devalued. Therefore, what little juice you get from them, isn’t worth the effort.

Be sure that you focus on writing quality content for your readers, first. Be sure to use basic SEO optimization in your articles, as well. You need to give the search engines the right signals that your content is relevant to your title, etc.

It is all about giving Google what it wants. Therefore, concentrate on Web 2.0 properties, reduce your backlinks from blog networks. Furthermore, if you continue to spin articles, make sure they read well and make sense. Remember, grammar counts!

Avoid getting large spikes in your backlink building efforts. Build a steady stream, and don’t put all of your eggs in one basket, either. Furthermore, remember to build your links in tiers and point your backlinks to your money page. This will help to protect your money site!

Use RSS Feeds to strengthen your backlinks and this will help to get them in the search engine’s index. Be sure to mix up your anchor text, as well. Otherwise, that can get you flagged for unnatural back linking.

Some people say this is a little bit extreme. However, you may want to remove your sites from Google’s Webmaster Tools. Think about it for a minute. Maybe, Google, has too much of your data?

Hope you enjoyed this article, “Post Panda, Dealing With The Snap, Crackle, Pop” and don’t abuse SEO Optimization. The first type is targeted traffic and the second type is non-targeted traffic. The best kind of traffic to have is “targeted traffic” because it will deliver people who are mainly interested within your site niche. Furthermore, because this traffic is targeted, you are going to have a better chance that they are going to be willing to spend money on your products and services.

Targeted Traffic Converts More Easily

The second type of traffic which is, “non-targeted traffic”. Basically it consists of people who don’t have any interest in your niche, and what you have to offer. Overall, these are the people that aren’t going to part with their money very easily! If you are going to try to convert these people who are in the non-targeted traffic group, it is going to be a big waste of time and effort! Therefore, it is pretty easy to see what type of traffic is needed in order for you to generate revenue!

There are many places to get free traffic out there on the Internet. However, you need to be careful that you seek after traffic that is targeted. Furthermore, if you don’t, you could very well end up just spinning your wheels.

I am not going to argue the point that traffic of any type isn’t going to bump up your web stats. However, it may look good on your stats, but you are actually just painting an illusion if you are seeking non- targeted traffic! Furthermore, it is very unlikely that people from non-targeted sources, will actually take part and comment on your blog! Therefore, this leads to where people end up crying the blues about why, people don’t comment on their blog, and eventually they end up burning out and quit blogging.

It is best to get your head on straight from the beginning and on a path that doesn’t end up hitting a brick wall. In order to do this, one must do research to find out about what your niche consists of and what sources are available to make sure that there is enough interest to keep your blog niche alive! Focus on article directory sites, blogs that are related to your niche and build that stream of traffic source first!

YouTube related video:

Other related online articles about the benefits of targeted traffic:

If you get less high quality traffic from Google than you would like to here are 5 things you need to take into account.…
Get more targeted traffic from Google with these 5 simple tips

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, “Focus on your niche for targeted traffic that converts more easily!”

Spunky Jones.

Reacting to Negative Feedback and Criticism

Business World

Criticism

Criticism and being judged for what you do or say is a part of life, and we all get negative feedback from time to time. Choosing how to use it wisely so you can grow from it, instead of going on the defensive end, is entirely up to you. Furthermore, the next time that you encounter negative feedback, seek to understand instead of getting angry, will prove to be a better option and more rewarding!

- – Here are some tips when given “negative feedback” on a blog – -

Pick it apart:
Read negative comments and criticisms word for word. All readers will perceive it differently, but it is up to you to decode it. The immediate response is to give negative feedback or negative comments in return, but are we justified to do so? They have the right to their own opinion. We, as civilized adults, need to be open-minded and consider other ways of viewing. How? ….

Seek to understand by asking the commentator:
Find out why they feel that way? Alternatively, why they think this solution is better? A comment might be justified to the commentary’s background, upbringing, or personal experiences that you are not aware of.

Don’t prove them wrong:
Sorry but your not right, and the other person isn’t right when it comes to comments. Once again, they have the right to their opinion, and we need to respect that.

Turn the negative into a positive:
Do this by taking their point-of-view into consideration and thank them for adding another thought. If they explained why, you can debate back and challenge in a professional manner. For example: “That’s unfortunate, but think of it this way…” or “That’s interesting, have you tried..”

Negative feedback, if done correctly, can become an enlightening conversation if both parts are willing to be open-minded to each others opinion.

YouTube related video:

Other related online articles about Reacting to Negative Feedback and Criticism:

At the time of receiving any such negative feedback it is very important that an employee handle it the right way.
