        • Ping List Checker

One of the best and easiest methods to get more traffic on your WordPress blog is to distribute your content. This can be easily done by making use of the built in WordPress updater that will notify others when you have updated your blog content. The updater, will notify and ping the appropriate services with your updates. Then, people who are users of such services such as, Technorati and other services will be able to find your recent posts.

Every time you make a post, WordPress will notify these services that you made a blog post and that will increase your online exposure.

Below is a basic WordPress ping list to start with, just copy and paste the following ping list.

          http://api.moreover.com/RPC2

          http://bblog.com/ping.php

          http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2

          http://ping.weblogalot.com/rpc.php

          http://ping.feedburner.com

          http://ping.syndic8.com/xmlrpc.php

          http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/

          http://rpc.pingomatic.com/

          http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2

          http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping

          http://topicexchange.com/RPC2

          http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates

          http://xping.pubsub.com/ping

Go to Settings > Writing > Scroll Down > Update Services

          WordPress Ping List

Copy Paste the URLs listed above, and save the changes in your WordPress admin.

I also suggest that you start using the Smart Update Pinger plugin which will ping the above services only when you post a new article and not when you edit a post. This plugin has a cool feature that lets you check the log file in the smart-update-pinger plugin, which is located in your WordPress installation wp-content folder. You can easily see if there any of the ping services that are refusing a ping request for your site. If you find that there are some issues, you can easily remove them from the ping list to stop pinging them.

          Additional comments:
Please note that Pingomatic, does ping some of the same services that are listed in this ping list which is supplied by WordPress. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to be a problem because your not double pinging those services directly. However, I wouldn't give you a guarantee that it doesn't create any problems!
