        • Is dirty website code, holding your search engine rankings back?

        • - A little clening up of your website code, could do wonders for your rankings -

        • seo-codeThe mission at Google is to organize information from the world and make it accessible to its end users. Furthermore, one of the more important goals on the list at Google is to maximize the end user with the best possible experience.

It is becoming more of an issue these days that the very basic elementary steps of technical side of SEO optimization that is being overlooked by webmasters. These technical issues can actually cause your site to rank lower in the search engines, search query result pages. Therefore, if your site doesn't meet the standards required for their user experience, your rankings could actually suffer.

          - In this blog post, I will break these technical issues into three groups. -

#1. Clean up your dirty website code:
It is very important that you validate your web site code, so the search engine spiders don't have to sort through a bunch of dirty website code to get at your content. If your code is really bad, it could actually prohibit the spiders from totally spidering your entire site.

          * You should place all of your Java Scripts into a separate file, so that it can be called from the appropriate web pages as needed.
          * You should also place all embedded video code into a separate file and call it from the appropriate web pages as needed.
          * You should use a (css) cascading style sheet to put your web site formatting into.

          #2. Website availability:
The availability of your site is an important factor that is under consideration that determines the users experience. If your web site goes down or times out, it creates a bad experience for the user. Search engines are also affected by downtime and time-outs, they aren't able to spider your site.

#3. Loading speed of your web site pages:
Recently, at Google Webmaster Central, there was a blog post pertaining to page loading speed. This is very obvious that Google has concerns about the loading speed of web pages and how it affects the user experience.

To help webmasters fix the problem, Google, has released "Page Speed". This tool is a FireFox add-on that require Firebug. SpeedPage, will give you instant suggestions that will allow you to tweak your pages, in order to improve their load time.

Although, there nothing set into stone at this time of how much of these technical issues contribute to the importance on your SEO rankings. However, they are factors, which are now included in a role in the SEO making equation.

          Additional thoughts:
For the most part, SEO hasn't changed a whole lot in the last few years. Many people say that SEO is constantly changing and this is partially true. However, the changes seem to be more focused on what elements are currently being used by the search engine algorithms. These elements, are what usually change in the world of SEO to calculate search engine rankings.

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, "Is dirty website code, holding your search engine rankings back?"
