When you decided to create a blog, hopefully you sat down and planned it out a bit. One of the factors that you should have considered is the size of the niche, and if it could deliver the amount of visitors to help keep your niche alive to thrive. However, your blog is now live, and you are lacking visitors. Furthermore, you are probably a little confused and have a some questions that need to be asked and answered. Where are my visitors, and why are not they coming?
To answer these questions, we must first start with making sure that your web site can be found. It is extremely important your site can be found in search engines and directories to obtain traffic. Therefore, you must submit to search engines and directories to acquire inbound links. You must get other people to link to your site because directory and search engine traffic is not going to be enough to maximize your visibility.
Next, you need to give your visitors content that is useful. Without useful content, you can not hook, line and sinker your visitors to come back to revisit. This is where quality content, plays a crucial role to hold the attention of your visitors. Without quality content that is useful, you are not giving your visitors enough reasons to revisit.
How long does it take to create a popular blog? There is not an exact time that required to make your blog popular. However, it depends greatly on the type of niche and your marketing techniques that you use to promote your site. Furthermore, some sites gain popularity within weeks and others could take months or even years! One of the biggest things to popularity is your methods and steps that you take to increase your popularity.
You need to figure out how many blog posts you want to make per week. This plays a major factor to generating traffic and obtaining popularity faster. The bigger your site is, the more potential you have to reach more visitors. This is because you are giving the search engines more content to index and that increases your changes of exposure. However, don’t forget that it needs to be useful content.
Other methods are link bait and press releases to increase exposure to your site. However, there are many other methods that I have covered in previous articles on this blog that work extremely well, that you should consider.
Additional comments:
Never, forget about the importance of promoting your site to gain exposure and popularity. The more you get your site in the eye of the public, the more visibility it will receive. Word of mouth, goes a long, long, way!
