        • Whats up with Google removing PageRank feature from their Webmaster Tools?

        • - Have we seen the last of PageRank as we know it, or is this a sign of some algorithm changes?

        • Google PageRankThe jungle drums are beating once again with the news that Google has dropped the PageRank feature, from their Webmaster Tools. Furthermore, as the drums continue to beat, there are numerous rumors that Google might even ditch PageRank, all together!

While these drums continue to beat and the rumors continue, there is no concrete evidence that there is any truth that Google is ditching PageRank. However, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if the value of visible PageRank is going to be significantly devalued or even removed.

It is my opinion that PageRank is very easy to manipulate. All you have to do is build backlinks on sites that are related to your niche that has a PageRank. Furthermore, these days it seems that PageRank is achieved by who you know, and who will give you a backlink. This is not what Google had intended, by any means! Some speculate that Google has a new and improved algorithm that is on the horizon? Wouldn't surprise me one bit!

One thing that I know for sure is, the PageRank feature was removed in Google's Web Master Tools. Furthermore, it was also stated by a Google employee, that you shouldn't focus so much on Pagerank. Therefore, it was removed from the Webmaster tools to encourage people not to solely focus of PR. However, I am not sure if those who are hooked on Pagerank, are willing to accept that.

There are a lot of people who say that Pagerank is dead. However, since people still place a value on it, Pagerank isn't completely dead! As long as there is a supply and a demand, it will continue to hold value for some. Furthermore, PageRank is still being used as a meter to determine a sites status. With all of this said, the PageRank debate will continue its endless journey!

Pagerank is a patented algorithm, and it is my opinion that Google will go all out to protect it from exploit! PageRank is just a measurement that is used to measure the authority of a site that is included in Google's index. Pagerank, shouldn't be used as a method of measuring the success of online marketing strategy. What good does it do you to have a PR6 site, if you don't have targeted traffic and you can't convert into sales? However, PageRank seems to be useful in selling advertising space, such as banners, text links and site reviews. It is also used to stroke your ego, if you believe that a site with lessor PR isn't as important as your site. However, this is not true in all cases!

Therefore, I strongly suggest that more focus is put on quality content that is unique and niche related. In the long run, you will come out further by increasing targeted traffic and converting it into sales. Quit worrying about Pagerank and get down to business, using your time wisely.

Hope this blog post was helpful to you, “Whats up with Google removing PageRank feature from their Webmaster Tools?”
