You decided to blog, so where do you start?

The very first two steps that you need to address when you start a blog is, what's your blog niche going to be about, and making sure; there is enough audience to keep that blog niche topic alive. Once you have determined that, and you've got the green light, you will then need to select a relevant title and tagline that will be appealing to your visitors.

However, if you have a special passion, and you desire to blog about that niche, that is great. However, if you want to blog and got the idea of making money, then choosing a blog niche that can support the supply and demand of visitors is of the utmost importance. With all that said, you are probably wondering, where do I start and how in the world can I figure that out? There is no need to panic, the steps are quite simple, and I will be walking you through them.

Assuming that you have selected a blog niche, we will now proceed to the next step needed to determine if the niche will supply the audience and traffic flow needed to make your blog thrive.
For this procedure, we will be using Google Adwords keyword tool to search for the best keyword phrases for your blog niche.

* You will need to click on, the following URL "https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal" or paste it in your Internet browser to access Google Adwords keyword tool. If things went well, you should see a screen with the following details, as shown below.

* For this lesson, we are going to leave the Google keyword tool defaults that are set in place. Next, we will type in a few keywords that are related to our blogs niche that we have selected. I have selected the following keywords, blog, blog tips and blogging tips for possibilities.

* We need to process this to get our results of possible blog niches, please process.

* From this point on, it is all about the math to determine, which are the best keywords, traffic volume and competition to select your blog niche.

* As we look over our results, we can see that "blog"  has too much competition, to large of a niche and to broad of a topic. Therefore, we need to target a smaller niche with less competition. My guidelines are no more than 25,000 and no less than 5,000 per month for a brand new blog. Looking at the result, blogging tips - 6,600 and blog tips - 18,100 are good possibilities to choose from and there are a few other worth thinking about as well.

* This is one of many methods which you can use to find a blog niche which is suited for your blog topic. Furthermore, this process works very well for writing articles and selecting article titles as well.
