        • What Is A Blog?

        • What is a blogMore and more entrepreneurs are beginning to realize the importance of having a blog with their business. Whether you have a web site or not, you are going to want to have a blog for several different reasons. Before getting into the technicalities of having a blog it is important you understand, what is a blog.

When looking for a blog definition, you are going to find that there are several different definitions to go off of. Here are a few blog definitions you may find:

          * 'A hierarchy of text, images, media objects and data arranged chronologically, that can be viewed in an HTML browser.'
          * 'A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.'
          * 'A journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger."'

As you can see, there is a difference from one definition to the next. While it can be difficult determining exactly what a blog is with so many definitions, it really is a simple concept. It is essentially a type of web site that is arranged in chronological order from the most recent blog posts at the top of the page to the older entries at the bottom.

Typically, blogs are going to be written by one person and should be updated at least once or twice a day. While blogs are usually written on a particular topic, the beauty of having a blog is that it can be on any topic imaginable. As long as there is an interest in the niche, you can build a successful blog.

Having a blog and making blog posts gives you the opportunity to interact with people just like you. These are people who have an interest in what you have to offer and are willing to talk to you about it. Instead of being so business-like, you will find that blogs are much more calm and laid back.

As you ask 'what is blog,' think of it as an enjoyable way to talk to people who share similar interests. There is no pressure to sell an item or put pressure on the visitors. Instead, you want to take the opportunity to get to know some people and show them that you care about their wants and needs.

Blogs are really a simple concept, yet introduce an incredible opportunity to network, build relationships, and truly get to know your prospects. It is the perfect chance for you to drastically increase your traffic and sales without even trying to.
