Whether you believe that Alexa ranking has any value or not, it has advantages when you break the 100K barrier! If you are selling any type of products or services, this group of individuals requires proof of the amount of traffic your site receives. Your Alexa ranking will give them a reasonable representation of your traffic status and where it comes from. Please note the site's visitors view an average of 8.4 unique pages per day. Therefore, this tells me that my visitors are finding content that is of interest to them. Furthermore, these stats tell me, this site is popular to people living in the middle East.

Furthermore, you'll notice some nice spikes in the traffic, due to some promotion. This is very helpful to monitor what is working for you, especially when you use different methods to promote your site.
The image above display the countries that Spunky Jones blog receives its visitor from. Furthermore, as you can see, I just need to expand my coverage to more countries that aren't shown. I just need to figure out what countries I want to target and promote, promote and promote!
As you can see, my audience is mostly made up of single males 25-34 and 45-54 years old that browse from home. This is very useful to help you expand your target audience.
I am very happy with the overall growth of the Spunky Jones Blog. It continues to expand its coverage throughout the world, targeting its audience within the SEO field and related niches.

In the past, Alexa's rank was calculated by that data collected from their toolbar. However, they also collection traffic stats from other means such as, the Firefox Search Status extension. They are making attempts to improve how they collect their data to improve its accuracy.For many people, Alexa is a a fortune. However, on the other hand, it is deemed worthless to others. Furthermore, it is very dependent on the niche that you are in, and the type of products and services you sell. In my opinion, Alexa's rank has its place and benefits. Therefore, it is entirely up to what you think about Alexa as a metric!
